19th hole

Phrase of weekmore

If you find your ball in the woods, it is unplayable. If a professional finds his ball in woods, not only is it playable but he can hit it onto the green.

Figure of weekmore

Jokesmore

Sam and Harry are playing one day. On the first hole, Sam hits a wicked slice into the adjoining fairway. The ball hits another player right between the eyes and he drops to the ground.

Sam and Harry rush over to the prostrate man and find him unconscious with the ball laying on the ground between his legs.

Sam screams, "Oh my God, what should I do?"

Harry replies; "Don't move him. If you leave him there he becomes an immovable obstruction and, according to the rules, you are allowed a drop two club-lengths away."

Tip of the Month for Golfers → 2008-May. Playing From A Bare Lie

Playing from a bare lie particularly when the ground is hard is a difficult shot to play,  you must be very precise and it’s important you make contact with the ball first.

If you have a  bare lie with a chip or pitch don’t take the sand iron, the reason is that on the sand iron the sole of the club is normally very big, because of this it will have the tendency to bounce off the hard ground and you will probably top or thin the ball, try a pitching wedge depending on what distance you left to the hole.

The best way to play this shot is to move the ball position a little further back in your stance and have the weight a little more on the left foot than usual “ for right handed golfers” also push the hands a little forward ahead of the ball at the address position, when you start the backswing  try to keep your body weight a little more on your left foot and don’t use your wrists to much in the swing, On the down swing try tp keep your hand ahead of the club head and once again try not to use your wrists too much.

If you can adopt this technique from this difficult bare lie, you will have a much better chance of making a good contact with the ball, try and play this shot more like a chip and expect the ball to fly a little lower and roll onto the green rather than a high lob shot.

Good Luck !!
